UPDATES ON THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) FOR TRAVELERS TO KENYA

UPDATE ON THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) as of 22nd March 10.00 pm

  1. 8 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 15 with no reported deaths in Kenya.
  2. All international flights to Kenya suspended effective Wednesday, 25/03/2020 apart from cargo flights. All travelers into Kenya until Wednesday to undergo mandatory quarantine at a government facility at their own expense.
  3. All travelers into Kenya since 1st March 2020 must self-quarantine for 14 days. All persons who are on self-quarantine and violate quarantine measures are to be quarantined forcefully at their own expense.
  4. Mandatory screening has been instituted at all points of entry to minimize the risk of importation of COVID-19.

UPDATE ON THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) as of 22nd March 1.30pm

  1. There are seven (7) confirmed COVID-19 cases with no reported deaths.
  2. Since 13th March 2020 for thirty (30) days, the Government suspended travel for all persons coming into Kenya from any country with reported Coronavirus cases.
  3. Only Kenyan Citizens and any foreigners with valid residence permits will be allowed to come in and proceed on self-quarantine for 14 days or to a government-designated quarantine facility.
  4. All travelers into Kenya since 1st March 2020 must self-quarantine for 14 days and are expected to sign a legal document on the same.
  5. Mandatory screening has been instituted at all points of entry to minimize the risk of importation of COVID-19.
  6. All learning in all educational institutions is suspended.
  7. Avoid crowded places, observe social distancing and personal hygiene.
  8. The use of cashless transactions through mobile money or credit/debit cards is encouraged.
