His Excellency William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya, arrived in Luanda, Angola, on 7 January 2025 evening, for a 24-hour working visit.

The meeting with His Excellency João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola, was held on 8 January 2025, from 10:00hrs, at the Presidential Palace. He was accompanied into the meeting by a high level delegation comprising:

-The Prime Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi;

-2 Governors: Hon. Anne Waiguru and Hon. Gladys Wanga;

-1 Senator: Hon. Ali Roba

-1 member of Parliament: Hon. Zachary Thuku

The meeting featured discussion on bilateral relations and cooperation. Cognizant of the importance of interconnectivity to expand opportunities to enhanced cooperation and mutual benefit, H.E. President Ruto, engaged H.E. President Lourenço concerning direct flights by Kenya Airways and visa waiver, to enhance interconnectivity and ease movement of goods, services and business persons.

H.E. President Ruto congratulated H.E. President Lourenço as he takes up chairmanship of the African Union for 2025, assuring his counterpart of Kenya’s solidarity and support.
