On 8 October 2024, Amb. Joyce M’maitsi received Amb. Johan Borgstam, EU Special Representative for the Great Lakes Region and Amb. Rosário Bento Pais, Head of EU Delegation to Angola, at the Embassy. Discussions focused on the on-going Luanda and Nairobi peace processes and the role of the EU in support of these peace initiatives.
Amb. M’maitsi underscored the importance, complementarity and interdependence of the Luanda and Nairobi peace processes, affirming Kenya’s commitment to peacebuilding initiatives to stabilize the Region. She opined that a resolution to the conflicts is a priority in order for the region to realise the benefits of peace and development for our collective futures.
