On 9th December 2025, Amb. Joyce M’maitsi and Amb. Sophie Aubert, Ambassador of France to Angola, presented a joint démarche on the Africa-France Summit, to be held in Nairobi, Kenya, on 11th – 12th May 2026, to the Minister of External Relations of Angola, Amb. Téte António.
They highlighted that the Summit will bring together Heads of State and Government, ministers, and representatives of regional and international organizations. They discussed the thematic priorities of the Summit, as well as Angola’s participation, focusing on the presentation of national initiatives in economic diplomacy, industrialization, economic diversification, and youth policies.
Amb. Téte António emphasized the importance of the country actively participating in defining joint African positions, highlighting that the event constitutes an opportunity to strengthen political coordination and boost strategic partnerships.
The meeting demonstrated a shared interest in strengthening multilateral dialogue mechanisms and consolidating bilateral relations with Angola, with Amb. M’maitsi reiterating Kenya’s full willingness to work in close coordination with the Ministry of External Relations in the period leading up to the Summit.
