Angola hosted the fourth African Youth Games from 10th to 20th December 2025, bringing together young athletes from across the continent for a multi-sport event focused on development and competition. This major continental event brought together young athletes aged 14 to 17 years, in approximately 33 sports disciplines, across three host provinces, including Luanda, Bengo and Icolo e Bengo.
Organized by the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) with the Motto- Youth in Motion, United Africa, the event welcomed delegations from 26 African countries. The Games served as part of the qualification pathway for the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026.
Kenya participated at the youth games, led by Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports and National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) Officials. The Embassy, Kenyans in Angola, Paul Tergat and Tecla Lorupe turned up to cheer the teams. Our young champions delivered with heart, grit and excellence as they emerged at position seven (7) with 35 medals, comprising 7 gold, 11 silver and 17 bronze medals.
