The Embassy hosted Jamhuri day celebrations on 12th December 2025, at Diamante Hotel in Luanda. Host Government Officials, Diplomatic Corps, the Private Sector and Kenyans in Angola joined the Mission in celebrating Kenya @ 62.

In her remarks, Amb Joyce M’maitsi, highlighted the admirable progress in the political, economic and social spheres and saluted the resilience of the Kenyan people. She reiterated that Kenya and Angola enjoy excellent cordial bilateral relations dating back to pre-independence days.

She acknowledged that the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, Kenya’s first President, was honored with a posthumous national award by the Republic of Angola during its 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations held in Luanda on 6th November, 2025.

These relations have in recent times gained momentum. There is an increase in high-level engagements and exchange visits, trade and investment as well as people to people contact. The ongoing discussions on instruments of cooperation will further build on this impetus to advance and deepen the relations between our two countries.

She extended an invitation to visit Magical Kenya, taking advantage of the direct flights. She underscored the blend of culture, nature, leisure and adventure that awaits travellers and emphasized that they would be showered with the traditional Kenyan hospitality, as they enjoy the unique, authentic and exceptional Kenyan travel experiences.
