Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Angola and the Government of the Republic of Kenya on Collaboration in the field of health, signed in October 2023, a team of experts from Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) and Ministry of Health traveled to Luanda, Angola from 11 to 15 August 2025
The main objective of the study visit was to identify the training and capacity building needs of Angola and proffer solutions, in order to strengthen cooperation in the field of health care provision, development and exchange of human resources in health, surveillance and control of emerging and re-emerging diseases, for mutual benefit.
The Kenya delegation acknowledged the progress Angola has made in improving the infrastructure in their hospitals and medical facilities and promised to support in training of personnel in order to enhance the manpower needed in those facilities.
At a session with the media on 15 August 2025, H.E. Silvia Lutucuta, Minister of Health of Angola and Amb. Joyce M’maitsi highlighted the progress made by the Ministry of Health of Angola in building and equipping of medical facilities in the Country. The Ambassador reiterated Kenya’s commitment to provide training to medical professionals of Angola by KMTC as identified during the visit.
