Death Anouncement of H.E Emilio Mwai Kibaki – The Third President of Kenya

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of H.E Emilio Mwai Kibaki on 22nd April 2022 who was the third President of Kenya. He lived a distinguished life dedicated to public service.

H.E. Kibaki espoused great leadership and made major contributions in the development of the nation, the continent and globally. The Embassy wishes to join the rest of Kenyans and friends of Kenya in mourning the passing of a true African statesman.

The Embassy has opened a condolence book at the Chancery to honor his legacy from Wednesday 27th April to Friday 29th April from 10:00hrs to 15:00hrs. E-messages of condolence can be sent to kenyaembassyluanda@gmail.com May the soul of H.E. Mwai Kibaki Rest in Peace.

Africa Day Celebration 2021

Today Ambassador Josphat K.Maikara, MBS in his capacity as Dean of the African Group of Ambassadors at the 2021 #Africaday celebrations, espoused the need to tap into Africa’s heritage and cultural diversity as a catalyst for socio-economic development and integration of the African continent.

The celebrations were held at the Diplomatic Academy of Angola and the chief guest was H.E. Domingos Vieira Lopes, Secretary of State for International Cooperation representing H.E. Téte António, Minister for External Relations of Angola.

In addition, the African Group of Ambassadors donated Kwanzas 3,271,000.00 to the campaign “Abraço Solidário, Somos Angola” towards humanitarian assistance to victims affected by the drought in southern Angola.

AFRICA DAY 2020 IN ANGOLA

On 25th May 2020, marked the 57th Anniversary of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) now the African Union (AU). In this year’s celebrations, Amb. Josphat K. Maikara, MBS in his capacity as the Dean of the Group of African Ambassadors and Ambassador of Kenya in Angola, participated in a virtual public lecture titled, “COVID-19 IMPACT AND RESPONSE FROM THE AFRICAN CONTINENT”, organized by the Ministry of External Relations of the Republic of Angola. The Chief Guest at the lecture was H.E. Amb. Tête António, Minister for External Relations for the Republic of Angola.
